Circulation Rules

1. Members should produce their Library Membership Card at the time of book issue and return.

2. Books are issued and returned from 10:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.

3. Books will be issued to student members for 15 days. An overdue charge of Rs. 1.00 per book per day shall be levied if a book is kept beyond the loan period.

4. Students can reserve books at the circulation counter if books are already issued.

5. Books in demand may not be renewed.

6. Readers are responsible for books issued against their names.

7. The library reserves the right to recall any issued book even before the due date.

8. Borrowers must check the physical condition of books before borrowing. Otherwise, they will be held responsible for any damage later or at the time of return.
Library General Rules

1. Only Goreswar College students, faculty & staff as registered members are allowed to use the Central Library.

2. Students should come with proper uniform in the Central Library.

3. Before entering the library, the gate register is to be signed legibly.

4. Personal belongings like books, bags, umbrellas, etc., should be deposited at the property counter.

5. Readers should observe strict silence & discipline inside the Library.

6. Using mobile phones in the library should be only for academic purposes. Online chatting and browsing of social networking sites are strictly prohibited.

7. Readers should not talk or discuss inside the Library as they may disturb other readers.

8. Library membership card is non-transferable.

9. Documents taken out of the shelves must be left on the table.

10. Readers should not mark, underline, dog-ear, write, tear pages, or damage library documents.

11. Newspapers, journals, and magazines must be read only inside the Library.

12. No library materials can be taken out without permission. Unauthorized removal will be treated as theft.

13. Anyone violating library rules will lose membership privileges.

14. The library shall not be responsible for loss or damage of personal belongings.

15. Suggestions on all aspects of library services are welcome.
